CHLOE'S ATTEMPT AT A COST EFFECTIVE JUICE DIET / DETOX / FAST/ WHAT HAVE YA! - WITH M&S

There are two approaches to juice dieting that I've heard of.  The first is D.I.Y – it’s fairly cheap to gather fresh all-natural ingredients, however a juicer is required along with maximum effort.  The second way is to pay a company like JuiceToU to do all the hard work.  They will deliver you a 3 or 5 day juice plan costing between £79.00 - £129, with £12 for postage.  Personally I don’t own a juicer and I’m not in a position to buy one, nor do I have vast amounts of money to spend on juice, so I’m looking for that in-between solution. A relatively fresh juice diet that is cost-effective with minimal effort involved….And that’s where Marks & Spencer come in!

The 750ml juices!

Shopping in M&S yesterday I came across an offer of 3 fresh 750ml juices for £5, so I bought the 4 types that were there. (Orange & Carrot; Apricot, Pumpkin & Orange; Apple, Asparagus & Lemon; Pineapple, Mango & Coconut with a splash of Lime) Individually, the juices  are around £2.20 each.  I also bought a small 250ml bottle of the Orange & Carrot juice for £1.00, which I can use to refill and drink out of during the diet.

The little 250ml juice!

The juices must be consumed within 48 hours of opening, which is a good indication that they don’t contain many preservatives.

I’m going to detox for only 3 days. I’m hoping to kick-start the New Year by dropping a few pounds, banishing toxins and feeling a little healthier. I gave up smoking just over two months ago and since then all I’ve done is eat and live by “YOLO” when it comes to kebabs and gateau. Life was good.  However, I’m distraught that I can no longer fit into my skinny jeans, and have since become reliant on jeggings (but they’re oh so comfy!)  I’m off work and college at the moment, so I figured now is a good time to do it whilst I’m at home watching Disney films and not dependent on needing much brain power.

Here’s a summary on what I’m doing for 3 days:
  • 1x 250ml bottle of juice 4 times a day. – No food.
  •  Drink roughly 2 litres of water per day.
  •  Drink lemon/lime water in the morning and fruit teas between juices. Nothing caffeinated.
  • No exercise - You’re not supposed to exercise when you’re on a juice diet because your body is extremely tired, which is fine by me! Never been one for exercise. Perhaps I should change that in 2014.
I will write about day 1 soon!

See you our kid!
