OH TED BAKER - CHLOE'S GONNA MAKE YER HERS, ALL HERS!

If you've read my previous post (and the title of this one), you'll be all to aware of my feelings for Ted Baker stuff. It all started when my DKNY bow purse that I bought in 2013 from ASOS broke.  I was well chuffed with that purse.  I was 17 at the time with no job, and to have bought a really pretty designer purse with my Christmas money was something I was proud of.  After it broke, I was keen to replace it purse with something similar, perhaps even the same (I have a habit of doing that with things I like, I'm on my third replica of a handbag I bought over year ago) but of course it was gone, and I could not find anything similar, so I got a £10 cat wallet from New Look (ever so cute!). Then I saw it...

The beautiful Ted Baker TITIANA patent matinee purse in Bright Pink on ASOS. OH THE BOW CLASPS. It was love, and priced at £75 I knew it wouldn't be a cheap romance - but hey I was ready to commit.

...Of course it was sold out though. 'Sold out absolutely everywhere. 'Sold out at Very, at House of Frasier and even at Ted Baker itself (himself?).  I emailed the Ted team, asked them if they would have any more in, and by golly they did! Luckily the purse is part of the current collection and so they replenished the stock, however Bright Pink has sold out yet again. Daym its popular. Not to worry though! It could come back plus they do TITIANA in many other stunning colours (I really like the red!).

I also bought a green JAKKO make up bag which was in the sale . I feel proud getting out in the bathroom at college when I reapply my make up, because last year I was content with toting my stash around in a ripped ziplock Tesco freezer bag. Swag.

J'ADORE JEWELLERY4!

Before now I have never been in the habit of writing rave reviews. I've always been looking for an opportunity, but never have I felt so compelled!

Recently I've become obsessed with Ted Baker.  My new found appreciation has made me want to buy pretty jewellery, and after seeing the Ted Baker SIENNA acrylic bow pearl bracelet I was adamant I wanted it.  It was sold out on Very, and it wasn't available on the TB website, so I turned to Google.  I came across Jewellery4, a company I'd never heard of before but I'm very glad I know of now.  They had the bracelet! and it was in the sale too! YAY! It was around £19, and I also saw the prettiest bow necklace to go with it, encrusted with ruby coloured gems. The necklace was £49.00 down to £24.50, bargain! Chloe loves a bargain. I don't have many necklaces so I'm pleased to have a new one!

As I spent over £20 I was elligible for a free gift, and what was it? A TRANSLUCENT TED BAKER MAE RING! YAY! I was torn between three colours; Ruby, Emerald and Amethyst, but I ended up going for Amethyst. Although Ruby would have matched the necklace and the bracelet, I'm a sucker for lilac things! It says Ted Baker on one side and You're A Gem on the other. Aw!

Jewellery4 do free UK delivery and they sent my parcel out 1st class on the same day! Happy! I received it today.

Not only do they sell my favourite Ted Baker, Jewellery4 boast other brands including Cath Kidston, Karen Millen, L.K Bennett, Les Nereides, Simon Harrison, St Erasmums and Zelia Horlsey, brands which include pieces so beautiful I will no doubt be purchasing soon!

A big thank you JEWELLERY4 for an amazing service! You perked up a lousy Thursday for Chloe! x

I'd link you all to the bracelet but they've sold out, fortunately for me I got the last one! And the rings aren't for sale individually.

Thanks for reading & see you soon our kid!

LEFT THIS A BIT LATE ENT I - JUICE DIET DAY 3 & REVIEW

& Review

*No exercise*
*No food*
*Try to drink 2L of water*
*Drink fruit teas - nothing caffeinated*

Well, this is awkward.  Life, as it does, took hold and I got a bit busy with work, so I couldn't do my third update and review consecutively...so here I am almost a week later. Hi!  Let's crack on.

I went down to 8 st 13lb on day 3, so I lost another pound! Then the day after I was 8st 12lb, so it's safe to say I was losing a pound a day.

My thoughts on this experience? I'm confident I could of lost 1lb a day by eating.  I've done it before more-or-less.

CHLOE SWAPS STELLAS FOR JUICE ON NEW YEARS EVE - JUICE DIET DAY 2

Weight: 8st 0lbs! I lost 1lb! Woo! A bit of progress.

*No exercise*
*No food*
*Try to drink 2L of water*
*Drink fruit teas - nothing caffeinated*

I got up today with quite a bit of energy and feeling more decent then I thought I would, hooray!

11:00
Started the day with my hot lemon and finished off the last of the Orange & Carrot juice!

14:00
Next up I got to open the Pineapple, Mango & Coconut Water With A Splash Of Lime.  'Tastes just like the long-life tropical juice we have knocking about in the fridge, but alot tastier! Win!

17:00
I haven't been feeling the hunger much today, I'm actually amazed. I guess the first day is always the hardest and then you get used to it.  I had another glass of Pineapple, Mango & Coconut Water With A Splash Of Lime because it's so yummy!  I've got another bottle of juice but even when the juice diet is over I'm going to continue having them in my diet, so I'm off to M&S now to stock up, I hope I see some flavours that weren't there the otherday!

I FOUND TWO NEW FLAVOURS AT M&S, I'M HAPPY! I've stocked up on the two juices I've finished and I found Apple, Beetroot & Blackcurrant juice! I used to be obsessed with beetroot when I was a child but now I think it's disgusting...can't wait to drink it!  I also found a 300ml Berry Medley juice bottle which I'm pleased about, as none of the juices I had really included berries.

2 new flavours!

20:00
Last juice of the day! The time in-between juices hasn't dragged like it did yesterday thank goodness! Gone for a bottle of the Apple, Beetroot & Blackcurrant, to my disdain... NAH, it was alright actually, I can taste the beetroor but it also tastes alot like blackcurrant so I just kid myself the whole flavour is really sweet/sour blackcurrant. Can't taste much apple to be fair.

I haven't drunk much water today and I probably won't hit my 2L target. Boo.

IT'S NEW YEARS EVE! I won't be drinking alcohol or eating *thumbs down* but oh well! I hope you all enjoy yourselves and stay safe! I'll see you on the flip-side in 2014!

SEE YOU OUR KID!

CHLOE WANTS TO GO TO PIZZA HUT BUT HAS AGREED TO DO THIS DETOX - DAY 1

Weight:  8st 1lb

*No exercise*
*No food*
*Try to drink 2L of water*
*Drink fruit teas - nothing caffeinated*

11:00
I woke up at 10:45 today and I’ve just had a cup of hot lemon tea and my morning juice. I wanted to wake up earlier and have my juice at 9:00 but that never happened. Boo.  I went for the Apple, Asparagus & Lemon juice to start the diet. I really quite enjoyed the taste! I’ve never tried an actual asparagus before but when I put it in my mouth I got a hint of it but upon swallowing it tasted predominantly of apple and lemon. Very nice!

250ml of Apple, Asparagus & Lemon juice! (Ignore the label)

14:00
I’ve been battling hunger up until now.  I watched two episodes of Friends and then I watched Tangled to kill some time. I tried to avoid how hungry I am by consuming bottles of water and mugs of hot lime.  For my second juice I picked Orange & Carrot.  I drank a bit of this one yesterday as it came in the small bottle and I wanted to try it.  I love it! It reminds me of soup, which is weird because I hate soup, unless it’s Heinz Tomato but yeah, it’s strange, it's a "fruity soup" but really tasty.

250ml of Orange & Carrot juice!

17:00
I’ve developed the biggest headache and I’ve got no energy at all. I can’t wait to go to bed.  I drank another bottle of the Apple, Asparagus & Lemon.  I’m not going to open the remaining two bottles until tomorrow, as there’s no point opening all four in one day as they need to be consumed within 48 hours.  Would have been nice to have more variety today but oh well!  I really want some pasta....

*19:15*
I’m not due my next juice for another half an hour but I thought I should update you on how irritable I am.   My brother made me do some menial tasks for him and I nearly broke down in tears I’m so tired.  I’d hoped I’d feel rejuvenated in some way, so much for that!

20:00
Up til now I’ve been drinking lots of water to try and hit my 2L target for the day.  Constantly drinking water alleviated my headache for a little while but then it came back. Ugh.  I just had Last juice of the day! Orange & Carrott, mmmmm.  Really wish it was Nandos though.

And that’s it for today! It’s been a long day but I’m happy I didn’t have to do anything, I don’t know how I’d of coped!  We’ll see tomorrow if I’ve lost any pounds, and if I feel better or not.

Ta-rah!

CHLOE'S ATTEMPT AT A COST EFFECTIVE JUICE DIET / DETOX / FAST/ WHAT HAVE YA! - WITH M&S

There are two approaches to juice dieting that I've heard of.  The first is D.I.Y – it’s fairly cheap to gather fresh all-natural ingredients, however a juicer is required along with maximum effort.  The second way is to pay a company like JuiceToU to do all the hard work.  They will deliver you a 3 or 5 day juice plan costing between £79.00 - £129, with £12 for postage.  Personally I don’t own a juicer and I’m not in a position to buy one, nor do I have vast amounts of money to spend on juice, so I’m looking for that in-between solution. A relatively fresh juice diet that is cost-effective with minimal effort involved….And that’s where Marks & Spencer come in!

The 750ml juices!

Shopping in M&S yesterday I came across an offer of 3 fresh 750ml juices for £5, so I bought the 4 types that were there. (Orange & Carrot; Apricot, Pumpkin & Orange; Apple, Asparagus & Lemon; Pineapple, Mango & Coconut with a splash of Lime) Individually, the juices  are around £2.20 each.  I also bought a small 250ml bottle of the Orange & Carrot juice for £1.00, which I can use to refill and drink out of during the diet.

The little 250ml juice!

The juices must be consumed within 48 hours of opening, which is a good indication that they don’t contain many preservatives.

I’m going to detox for only 3 days. I’m hoping to kick-start the New Year by dropping a few pounds, banishing toxins and feeling a little healthier. I gave up smoking just over two months ago and since then all I’ve done is eat and live by “YOLO” when it comes to kebabs and gateau. Life was good.  However, I’m distraught that I can no longer fit into my skinny jeans, and have since become reliant on jeggings (but they’re oh so comfy!)  I’m off work and college at the moment, so I figured now is a good time to do it whilst I’m at home watching Disney films and not dependent on needing much brain power.

Here’s a summary on what I’m doing for 3 days:
  • 1x 250ml bottle of juice 4 times a day. – No food.
  •  Drink roughly 2 litres of water per day.
  •  Drink lemon/lime water in the morning and fruit teas between juices. Nothing caffeinated.
  • No exercise - You’re not supposed to exercise when you’re on a juice diet because your body is extremely tired, which is fine by me! Never been one for exercise. Perhaps I should change that in 2014.
I will write about day 1 soon!

See you our kid!

TASTE OF CHLOE - BIRMINGHAM BLOG BRUMMING IN 2014!

Where we come from plays a big part in who we are.  We all have anecdotes, musings and inside jokes which are greatly influenced by the places we live and grew up in.  Boy, I could tell you a lot about Birmingham hahaha.

I'm (Taste of) Chloe and in 2014 I want to want to make a blog to capture life in Birmingham and let you know what's going on 'round ere', with a little help from my friends!

I aim to write reviews, student stuff, lifestyle, culture, fashion and where's good to eat!  There will be some generalised posts not so central to Brum (as not to leave the rest of the world out xx) so keep a watch out!

See you soon our kid!
